Last week we heard that Chevrolet will debut a brand new Malibu
next month at the New York Auto Show. The company today announced another redesigned vehicle, the 2016 Chevrolet Spark, will also make its global at the NYAIS on April 2.

The Spark city car has proved to be a very successful small car for Chevrolet, which has moved more than 1.1 million units since the vehicle went on sale as the Beat in India in late 2009. Today, the Spark is available in 71 markets worldwide and is best-received in Seoul, South Korea, followed by the U.S. and Mexico.

To mark its popularity in South Korea, Chevrolet will unveil the Spark at simultaneous event at the Seoul auto show, in tandem with its North-American reveal in New York.

Chevrolet says the new Spark will sport a sleeker, more aerodynamic exterior that is more evolutionary than revolutionary. Expect a more mature, sophisticated minicar.

“The new Spark’s design has evolved and grown up with the segment,” said Michael Simcoe, GM International vice president of Design. “The youthful whimsy of the original Spark is still in its genes, but it is conveyed in more traditional proportions that reinforce the customer’s refined expectations.”
