GMC Canyon Wins Cars.com Midsize Pickup Truck Challenge
The GMC Canyon is a best-in-class truck, but don’t just take our word for it: The rugged midsize’r was recently named the top pick by the editors of cars.com in a midsize truck comparison test.
The editors lauded the GMC Canyon SLT for its road manners and performance with a full load in the bed, as well as its design and “high-end materials.” The midsize’r was up against the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X as well as its sibling, the Chevrolet Colorado
.
“The GMC Canyon scored well throughout our tests, and offered a capable and luxurious ride and feel that clearly separated the GMC from the rest of the pack,” said Mark Williams, Pickup Truck Editor at Cars.com.
The trucks were tested in a wide range of categories including performance, seating and ergonomics, tech and entertainment, ride quality, visibility, value, and off-road capability. The trucks were even taken to a test-track were they were evaluated based on braking and performance.
As if that wasn’t enough, the trucks were also tested in a true off-road environment and were also took part in a 200 mile road test to measure fuel economy.
After all the test were performed the editors came to a decision and the Canyon, which starts at $20,600 CAD (plus tax), drove away the victor.
