CAMI Automotive, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GM Canada, is celebrating a milestone birthday this year– 25 years of Canadian manufacturing!

As a part of the celebration, CAMI team members, family and friends were able to take part in a tour of the state-of-the-art facility located in Ingersoll, Ontario.

During its lifespan, CAMI
has also given back to the community, contributing a grand total of more than $6.8 million to the United Way.

“We are excited to be able to open our doors and showcase our great facility,” said Les Bogar, Plant Manager, CAMI Assembly Plant. “This is our opportunity to share with the community the exceptional products, the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain that we are proud to build.”

The 1.7 million square-foot facility produces the Chevrolet Equinox
and GMC terrain, two of GM’s most popular midsize SUV’s. Throughout its past CAMI also built many other vehicles including the Chevrolet J2 Tracker, Chevrolet Metro, Pontiac Torrent and more.

In March, CAMI received a $250 million investment to install flexible body shop equipment and tooling to help convert the manufacturing facility to be able to support future production.
