That’s right, the first 2015 Corvette Z06 will hit the auction block on April 12 at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach, Fla! Best of all, the sale will be auctioned to benefit the Karmanos Cancer Institute, located in Detroit Michigan.
This year, Chevrolet is donating the all-new Corvette Z06 in support of Karmanos Cancer Institute’s 32nd Annual Dinner. The auction extends GM’s support for the Institute, which last year raised $1 million by auctioning the first 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible.
All proceeds from the auction will go to the renovation of the Institute’s infusion center, providing a more comfortable and soothing setting for patients to receive chemotherapy treatments.
The winning bidder will receive a letter of authenticity, as well as the ability to select the color of his or her 2015 Chevrolet Z06.

For the first time ever, the Corvette Z06’s aluminum frame will be produced in-house at General Motors’ Bowling Green assembly plant. It’s the same robust, lightweight frame used on the Corvette Stingray and it will be used essentially unchanged for the C7.R race cars.
