Chevrolet Leads The Pack In Electrification
Take one look at Chevrolet’s incoming lineup and it’s clear the company is the global automotive leader in electric vehicle technology. The brand has also committed to bring electric vehicles to the masses, making driving simple and fun.
As a matter of fact, the company has previewed four new electric vehicles since January and will likely bring three of them to market over the next year.
“Chevrolet’s advanced EV technology is designed to simplify the lives of our consumers,” said Alan Batey, president of General Motors North America. “With four new vehicles introduced since January, Chevrolet continues to prove its commitment.”
Here are the vehicles leading the electric charge (in no particular order):
1) 2016 Chevrolet Volt
The new, incoming Volt builds on the success of the previous model, allowing Canadians to drive up to 80km on electricity alone. Plus, the new car offers significantly increased range thanks to a new Voltec extended range propulsion system.
2) 2016 Chevrolet Bolt EV
(seen above)
This game-changing, next-generation concept vehicle was revealed earlier this year in Detroit and already the brand has committed to bring the all-electric vehicle to market. With an estimated range of 300km (!) and target price of $30,000 it’s sure to shake up the auto industry.
3) 2016 Malibu Hybrid
The all-new, next-generation Chevrolet Malibu comes available as a hybrid
and it uses technology from the 2016 Volt propulsion system. It offers a best-in-class 5.0L/100km of range and goes on sale next spring.
4) Chevrolet FNR concept
The FNR concept debuted at the Shanghai auto earlier this year and was awarded the Best Leading Technology Award. It’s a self-driving EV concept that can switch between autonomous and manual driving mode and can take alternate routes if time permits.
