Chevrolet Colorado Soars To New Heights, Reinvigorates Midsize Truck Segment
It seems the Chevrolet Colorado and its twin the GMC Canyon are nearly unstoppable. The GMC Canyon was recently named one of Ward’s 10 Best Interiors for 2015
, while the Chevrolet Colorado has also been praised for its abilities.
But what’s best is that the public is also starting to notice how great these two midsize trucks really are.
For one thing the new Colorado is leading all pickups in spending the least amount of time on dealer lots in the U.S. It’s a similar story in Canada– we can hardly keep them on our lot!
In the U.S., customers purchased an incredible 19,126 Colorados from January to March, when GM’s Wentzville plant added a third shift to keep up with demand.
And it’s not just GM buyers that are loving the midsize twins–far from it. More than one in two customers in the U.S.–53 percent–are new to Chevrolet.
“Chevrolet Colorado was designed as a go-anywhere vehicle, and it is making big tracks in the midsize truck segment,” said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. “With a great design and segment-leading capabilities and efficiency, it offers customers everything they want in a midsize truck – including the things they can’t get from competitors’ trucks.”
