Cadillac President Joahn de Nysschen has revealed that the brand will offer both six-cylinder and eight-cylinder diesel engines by 2019.

The new engines are first expected to be introduced in Europe. de Nysschen did not reveal specifics about the North-American market, but stated the brand “would definitely” bring them across the pond in the future.

While the brand’s moustachioed leader didn’t reveal exactly which models would receive the new engines, we wouldn’t surprised to see the engines offered in the ATS
, CTS and upcoming XT5 compact crossover to help each vehicle better with the diesel engines offered various German brands.

Rumours suggest the company may also offer a turbo-diesel engine in its flagship SUV, the Cadillac Escalade
.

The new engines may be years away, but we’re still excited to see Cadillac offer its customers even more choices to better suit their driving needs.
