We’re super excited about the incoming 2016 Chevrolet Volt
. With a bigger, more efficient battery, the ability to travel over 1,000 kilometres between fill ups, and to up to 80 kilometres of all-electric range, the all-new Volt is set to be one seriously impressive vehicle.

Plus, GM Canada recently announced that the new Volt will get new standard features not offered in the U.S. and a new low price when it hits Canada later this year.

New standard features!? That’s right, order a 2016 Volt and your call will arrive with heated seats, a heated steering wheels, and heated outside mirrors as standard! A genius idea that’s sure to come in handy during our cold Canadian winters.

And those handy winter features arrive alongside the Volt’s long list of standard features which includes: Location-Based Charging, Regen-On-Demand, Rears Vision Camera, LED low-beam headlamps, and 10 Airbags.

Best of all, Canadians will be able to get their hands on a new Volt for just $38,390 MSRP, plus a $1,600 destination freight charge ($39,990 total). Provincial incentives range from $0-$8,500, which means certain Canadians can take thousands off the price of their new vehicle.

Ontarian’s, for example, will be able to take a full $8,500 off the price of a new Volt, which means residents will be able to purchase a new Volt for as low as $29,890 after the full provincial incentive (BC and Quebec also offer incentive programs).

“The next generation Chevrolet Volt delivers more technology, significantly increased EV range and even more refinement.  It’s what our loyal Volt owners told us they wanted,” said Bob McClelland, brand director, Chevrolet in Canada.   “With a lower starting price, unique Canadian content and more standard equipment, the Volt will deliver exceptional value and attract new customers.”

We expect the new Volt to arrive later this year or early next year. More info to come.
